The Most Constant of Friends

"Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, the most patient of teachers."

 --Charles W. Eliot, Author

Just looking at this photo of my own former bookshelf brings tears of reading joy to my eyes.  Ever since I was a little girl, books have been like friends of sorts to me because they've inspired me, entertained me, and brought me great happiness and learning through their pages.  I joke sometimes that I was probably born with my nose in a book since I ordinarily read/scan about 1-3 books a week.  And some I read over and over again as they become my favorites.

Are your books like friends to you?  Do you ever not want the last page to end?  Do the characters ever make you fall in love with them, make you laugh, make you mad, make you wish you knew them in real life?  Does a book ever make you wish you could meet the author in real life? (Someone posted on their blog that after they read the how-to organizing book I wrote, they wished they could meet me in person, which I consider the ultimate compliment as a writer.)

Do you still read paper books, or do you read books exclusively electronically now that we're heavily into the digital age?  I'm in the process of considering buying e-books only and using a Kindle or other e-reader, rather than buy any more paper books, and I'm wondering how an e-reader will work for me since I've been reading "real" books now for such a long time!   Alas though, since my own Small Space Organizing book is on the Amazon "Top 100 decorating books" bestseller list in the Kindle version, looks like I better get up to date with how to read on an e-reader!

Read on and enjoy books!

157 International Libraries Now Lending My Book

I am pleased to announce that 157 international libraries are now lending my book, Small Space Organizing, including public, college, and technical libraries in New York City, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, and more libraries are purchasing the book every week or so!  (Available in both/either paperback and/or e-book editions, depending on each library's purchase.)

Having worked in several libraries myself while in college and in my twenties, I am thrilled to learn that my own book is now available to those who choose to use the library as their chosen source for books!

Love YOUR local library TODAY by checking out a book!
